A card starts a conversation.

Dietary Cards is a communication aid. A card cannot confirm ingredients, kitchen practices or whether a meal meets your needs.

Choose the request that actually matches your needs

Read the entire English meaning and the scope on the card page before using it. Each card covers one request. A celiac / gluten-free card does not also request vegan or vegetarian food, and vegan or vegetarian cards do not also request gluten-free food.

A card does not cover every possible ingredient, allergy, intolerance or preparation requirement. The examples in its message are not an exhaustive list. Discuss additional requirements directly with restaurant staff.

The message is not a guarantee

The website and cards do not provide individual medical advice, diagnosis or treatment and do not replace advice from a qualified health professional. We do not assess your personal health needs or inspect restaurants.

Translation or dietary wording errors may remain. A reader may misunderstand the message, and a card cannot establish what a kitchen uses or how it prepares food. Show every line, allow time to read and discuss uncertainty with staff. If they cannot accommodate your request, choose another option.

References explain the basis of a card’s scope; their organisations do not endorse or certify these cards. The correction form is not an emergency or real-time support service.

Keep a complete, current copy

Keep the full message, version and QR visible. Do not edit, crop, shrink or combine messages. Use the PDF at the paper dimensions given on its page; “Show to staff” provides larger, scrollable text on your phone.

The QR needs the internet and opens the current card status. Compare that version with your own copy. Saved or printed files do not update automatically. If a card is unavailable, stop using it; if the wording version changes, read the new meaning and replace old copies.

For practical steps, see saving, showing and printing. For a card problem, use the correction form without personal or health details. See also the terms of use and privacy policy.
